The area out here in southwest New Mexico is a desert area with the Rio Grand river meandering throw the valley providing for a fertile farming community. We traveled about 60 miles north east of here to White Sands National Monument. White Sands is a beautiful natural wonder of gypsum sand dunes some of which are 60 foot tall. The landscape out there is other worldly where you can walk on the gypsum sands with your bare feet not getting warm at all. There were many visitors who would take sled boards to slide down the sides of the dunes like snow and others dressed in nice outfits for picture taking experiences.
My goal is to share our travel experience through narrative and images to inspire others to explore our beautiful country. I hope that you are inspired by our travels and seek to see some of the wonderful public lands we have visited. All our camping trips have been made more comfortable and convenient to get into places that require a small profile with our 19 foot Aliner Expedition Trailer that was purchased new in 2004.
