The area out here in southwest New Mexico is a desert area with the Rio Grand river meandering throw the valley providing for a fertile farming community. We traveled about 60 miles north east of here to White Sands National Monument. White Sands is a beautiful natural wonder of gypsum sand dunes some of which are 60 foot tall. The landscape out there is other worldly where you can walk on the gypsum sands with your bare feet not getting warm at all. There were many visitors who would take sled boards to slide down the sides of the dunes like snow and others dressed in nice outfits for picture taking experiences.
My goal is to share my travel experiences through narrative and images to inspire others to explore our beautiful country. I hope that you are inspired by my travels and seek to see some of the wonderful public lands I have visited. Be sure to check out my links in the body of my blog to the trips and public lands I have visited over the years. You will find useful information that may help you in your travels.
