Jonathan Dickinson State Park is located just south of Hobe Sound, FL on Florida's southeast coast. Jonathan Dickinson is one of Florida's best tucked in between the inter-coastal and Florida's turnpike. The Loxahatchee River meanders through the park on it's way to the Atlantic providing opportunities for fishing, canoeing & along it's winding course through the park.

The adventurous can rent canoes, kayaks and even small motor boats to explore the nature lining the shore line of the river. For those who are so inclined can paddle up stream to Trapper Nelson's interpretive site to sample some of the history of this special place. Trapper Nelson was a out doors man who become well known for his rugged individualism building a site along the river to entertain his guest's at the turn of the last century with his wild life exhibit, and sorted buildings put together by his own hands with materials he gathered from the land.
